Rounded Developments Enterprises' Sustainable Building Centre

A new Sustainable Building Centre has been created by Rounded Developments Enterprises (RDE is a not for profit company) to allow voluntary organisations and others a chance to explore the world on sustainable building in a hands-on manner. The centre has a large range of information and demonstration pieces covering aspects like water and energy conservation, energy generation, interior materials, building structure and materials.

There are also a number of permanent displays that examine the underlying issues associated with sustainable building, but a series of temporary displays on different topics are rotated every 6 - 8 weeks, thus giving the centre a constantly fresh feeling to it. The centre also acts as a sign-posting service to local companies who can supply goods and services linked to sustainable building. Where there is a gap in the market, RDE will act as an access point for these goods. RDE carries a range of sustainable building materials including natural paints, flax insulation, eco-bricks, water saving devices, energy saving devices, steel guttering etc.

The centre also has a resource room that houses a reference library, a regularly updated board of relevant information, internet access point with bookmarked / favourite sites linked to sustainable building / background information. Use of this resource is free and can provide you with any background data that you require, as well as an access point to other providers within this field.
