Why an EPC? The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) is being implemented in stages throughout England and Wales between now and January 2009. The Directive states than an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) must be produced whenever a building is constructed, sold or rented out.

Home Information Packs (HIP's) need to include an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) that shows how much energy is needed to provide heat, hot water and light in your property.
