Be Informed Fund
A fund to help Welsh charities visit other organisations and learn about sustainability has been launched by the Big Lottery Fund in Wales.
The Be Informed fund, managed by the Wales Council for Voluntary Action, will contribute up to £200 to the cost of visiting ‘champion' organisations from across the UK that have set up successful trading activities or delivered public services effectively.
Charities will also be encouraged to visit organisations that have had bad experiences with sustainability. Host bodies will be paid consultancy fees of up to £200.
Sara Carroll, funding advice Cymru officer at the WCVA, said sustainable organisations needed to plan effectively, build skills and capacity and choose a variety of appropriate income streams.
